App Challenge

The Office of Congresswoman Andrea Salinas (D-OR-06) invites students from Oregon’s Sixth Congressional District to participate in this year’s Congressional App Challenge to showcase their coding skills. 

Student Eligibility

• Students may only compete in a single district.
• Students may only submit one application.
• Students may compete as individuals or in teams of up to four.
• Middle and high school students are eligible. Students must be enrolled by October 2025 in middle or high school in order to participate.

Submission Guidelines

A complete submission will include the following components: 

1. Demonstration Video
2. Summary of the App
3. Inspiration for the App
4. Coding Language Used
5. Technical Difficulties Encountered
6. Improvements in Version 2.0 of App
7. Contact Information

Important Deadlines

• October 30th: Student Applications due by 12:00PM ET
• November 5th: Judging process begins
• December 31st: End of the judging period
• December 8th-15th: Computer Science Education Week & announcement of winners!  

Apps must be submitted by October 30, 2025
