Due to the large number of visitors coming to DC, please request them as early as possible in order to maximize your chances.
▶The White House: The White House and its surrounding grounds serve as the home of the President of the United States and First Family. It’s also a museum of American history—and a place where that history continues to unfold every day. The White House has been occupied by every president since John Adams, and the history of this building extends far beyond the construction of its walls. White House tours are in high demand and a request must be submitted at least three weeks prior to the date you intend to visit the White House. Tours at the White House can be requested as early as three months in advance. White House tours are available Tuesdays through Saturdays between 8 am and 12:30 pm.
▶ U.S. Capitol Building: The United States Capitol in Washington, D.C., is a symbol of the American people and our government and the meeting place of the nation's legislature, the U.S. Congress. The Capitol is a working office building, but it is also the place where visitors from around the United States and the world come to learn about American democracy.
▶ FBI Headquarters/FBI Experience: The FBI Experience is a self-guided tour offered at FBI Headquarters in Washington, DC. Through interactive multimedia exhibits, content and artifacts, visitors will learn how the Bureau operates in the field, at Headquarters, and within communities across the country. The rich experience tells the story of the FBI’s internal operations and history, providing insight into the organization’s investigative divisions, laboratory resources, professional occupations, and more.
▶ The Library of Congress (LOC): The Library of Congress is the largest library in the world, with millions of books, films and video, audio recordings, photographs, newspapers, maps and manuscripts in its collections. The Library is the main research arm of the U.S. Congress and the home of the U.S. Copyright Office. The Library preserves and provides access to a rich, diverse and enduring source of knowledge to inform, inspire and engage you in your intellectual and creative endeavors. Whether you are new to the Library of Congress or an experienced researcher, we have a world-class staff ready to assist you online and in person.
▶ Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP): Located in the heart of the Nation's Capital, the Bureau of Engraving and Printing’s Tour and Visitor Center at the Washington, D.C. facility is a great place to learn all about U.S. paper currency. BEP welcomes visitors to explore its Visitor Center currency exhibits or join a tour to see how billions of dollars are printed. The Tour and Visitor Center is free of charge to all visitors.
▶ The Supreme Court of the United States: The Court is the highest tribunal in the Nation for all cases and controversies arising under the Constitution or the laws of the United States. As the final arbiter of the law, the Court is charged with ensuring the American people the promise of equal justice under law and, thereby, also functions as guardian and interpreter of the Constitution. In addition to the Courtroom, portions of the first and ground floors of the Supreme Court Building are open to the public.
