February 27, 2025

Washington, DC – Today, Congresswoman Andrea Salinas (OR-06) announced that she will be joined by Yamhill County Commissioner Bubba King for President Trump’s State of the Union address to Congress on Tuesday, March 4, 2025.

“I am honored to have Yamhill County Commissioner Bubba King as my guest for President Trump’s first State of the Union address,” said Rep. Salinas. “As an elected official, small business advocate, and local dairy farmer from Newberg, Commissioner King understands the issues that matter most to rural Oregon. He shares my commitment to delivering the funding and resources our communities need and deserve. Together, we will bring the collective voices and concerns of Oregonians to the House Chamber as President Trump lays out his agenda.”

“The invitation to join Congresswoman Salinas for the State of the Union is a privilege. Congresswoman Salinas is a leader who dedicates her attention on bipartisan issues that impact the day-to-day living of Yamhill County residents,” said Commissioner King. “I am proud to stand beside her in her advocacy for long-needed infrastructure funding to maintain safe access to our roads and water sources, protections for our leading industries workforce, and support for our immigrant community.”

Yamhill County Commissioner Bubba (David) King, a resident of Newberg, is deeply invested in the community he calls home. Together with his wife, Sarah, and their two children, Bubba operates Godspeed Hollow, a small dairy farm.

Commissioner King has served as President of the Chehalem Valley Chamber of Commerce, where he worked to support local businesses and foster economic growth. He has also contributed to the City of Newberg as a member of the SDC Committee and the Newberg Urban Renewal Agency Citizens Advisory Committee (NURA-CAA). Through these roles, Bubba has helped identify priority projects to enhance business development, incentivize affordable and workforce housing, and preserve the unique character and shared values of Yamhill County residents.

Commissioner King was first elected in November 2024 and took office in January. His committee assignments include the District Attorney’s Office, the Sheriff’s Office, and Transit. His focus supports these assignments, from advocacy in updating the county public safety communications system, supporting the construction and implementation of a sobering center, to infrastructure maintenance to ensure safe roads across the county.

Commissioner King is committed to building relationships across the state, regardless of political affiliation, to ensure that every community benefits from strong public safety, economic prosperity, and a high quality of life.
