Salinas Statement on Swearing-In of the 119th Congress
Washington, DC – Today, Congresswoman Andrea Salinas (OR-06) issued the following statement after taking the oath of office to represent Oregon's Sixth District in the 119th Congress:
“Today, I returned to Congress to take the oath of office and continue to serve the people of Oregon’s Sixth District in the 119th Congress. As I begin my second term, I am honored that Oregonians have again entrusted me with the responsibility of being their voice to fight for their values in Washington, D.C.
I will continue my steadfast commitment to fighting for a bipartisan Farm Bill that protects our specialty crop growers, and I will build on the progress we made in the bipartisan Mental Health Caucus last Congress to raise awareness and expand access to quality, affordable mental health and addiction treatment.
I recognize that we are living in uncertain and highly polarized times. No matter what happens over the next few years, I will always stand up for our Constitution and the rule of law. I promise to work with anyone—Republican or Democrat—who shares my commitment to delivering results and bringing down costs for working families. My sole priority is to pass policies that will make life safer, and more affordable for my constituents and for all Americans.”
