Salinas, Merkley bill amending Grand Ronde Reservation Act passes House

On November 15, 2023, the Polk County Itemizer-Observer wrote about Rep. Andrea Salinas' (D-Tigard) bill to restore the Grand Ronde Tribes' right to pursue land claims and compensation. The bill, which was the first piece of legislation that Rep. Salinas introduced in Congress, unanimously passed the House of Representatives on November 8, 2023.
