Fall 2026 D.C. Internship

The Office of Congresswoman Andrea Salinas (D-OR-06) is seeking candidates for a full-time (40 hours a week) twelve-week fall internship in our Washington, D.C. The preferred start date is August and September. Start dates are flexible depending on school schedules.

D.C. interns will get an in-depth look at the operations and functions of a congressional office, including policy, communications, office operations, and constituent services. Interns will get opportunities to attend hearings and briefings; assist with constituent services; and research legislation.

Qualifications:

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to speak courteously with constituents
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Attention to detail and eagerness to go above and beyond
  • Professionalism and demonstrated interest in public service
  •  OR-06 ties are preferred, but not required

Compensation information:

  • This is a compensated position. Academic credit may be available and should be arranged with your academic institution.
